Arrival - Day Two, Dublin

After a looooooong 8 hour flight and minimal sleep we have arrived safely in Dublin Ireland. When we boarded the plane it was 6:30pm US time and when we got off the plane it was 7:45am EURO time. So basically last night was non existent. And although the plane was rather uncomfortable.....I am a happy little Irish girl to be on my dream vacation. Love the SHAMROCK!

The rising sun as we approached Dublin.

Good Morning Sunshine....prepare for landing!

PINK....really??? Hundreds of cars on the lot and we get assignd to the only pink one in sight. Unbelievable!! Jeff wears it well....I guess! We have found it helpful when looking for our car along the street since no one in their right mind would drive pink car.

Our first destination was O'Connell Street ....of course! This is officially my favorite photo.

I thought this was interesting.

Jeff and I had our first Irish meal at this adorable restaurant. Well ... eggs, sausage, bacon, and toast anyway.

Quaint street lined with shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Yes that is Jeff ahead looking back to see what I am doing.

I know it is hard to see my face but I am smiling! Up at the very top is my Great Grandfather 6x, Daniel O'Connell. That was also my dad's name.....wonder how his parents came up with it.

Daniel O'Connell.....stunnng Lad!

Amazing!

It is about 1:45 Euro time and Jeff and I are at the hotel for a power nap. I know...I know...we are on vacation....why are we wasting time on a nap? Well the truth is.... we are utterly exhausted. We had a long hard past couple of weeks, with Jeff's class, buying the house, and me starting my second job with Hospice. We are well over do for some solid shut eye. But we have every intention of returning to the streets after our nap and diving into some drinks and of course potatos! Stay tuned, there will definitly be much more to see tomorrow.

  1. I have chills seeing these pictures and reading your story. How do you know that is our Great Grandfater 6x? When did you find this out? Please fill me in!!! Oh and I love the pink car. I would totally buy it! Great way to see the positive by never having trouble finding your car!!! Enjoy your shut eye and then get back to some major picture taking. I feel like I'm on vacation with you...oh wait there is squeaking toys with a dog at my feet and children playing in the background! Reality!!! :) Love you both!
