12 weeks, 4 days

If you didn't already know, we are pregnant!! Jeff and I are absoltuly thrilled. Neither of us expected it to happen so quickly but the timing couldn't be better. Our due date is May 3rd, 2011. Jeff will be graduating from his Master's program at that time as well. We will have been in our new house for a year at that point, and everything should be good and ready. We still have 6 months to go and I am sure at least the first 5 of those months will fly by.

Jeff and I have hired a Licensed Midwife who specializes in home birth. So we are planning to deliver in the natural environment of our home and I am extrememly excited to have that opportunity. Jeff has been amazingly supportive and helpful to me as I have been extra tired and having some difficulty eating. But overall, I am feeling good.

Here is our frist belly pic! I know what your thinking...whoa that is quite the belly for only 12 weeks. The interesting fact is that it has been that way since 9 weeks. I busted out of my clothes immediatly and invested in some maternity pants and bands/belts that help your clothes fit longer. All that belly but I am still down a few pounds from when I started. I suspect the the pounds will start coming in the coming weeks, but we shall see. Our next appointment with the midwife on Nov. 1st and my mom will be coming with me so she can meet the midwife and start getting comfortable with the idea of homebirth and Jeff's mom Jan will being coming with me to the December appointment. We plan to find out the sex of the baby and will share with everyone as soon as we know. This could be as soon as mid-December.
